Hope becomes shattered Memories~ Part 4

With the sun setting down, it was the signal for most of Scotland Yard to go home.
Most of the officers went off back to their homes while some stayed behind for the night job.

As Sasha left her office, locking the door, she noticed how Penny had just got back from patrol but sitting at her open desk.

Sasha could only smile as she walked over to Penny's desk and calmly said "So Penny. Its time to go home now together."

"I'm sorry Sasha but I have to keep on working tonight as I have to finish paper work..."

"OOOHHHH!!!! Can't you finish it at home babe?" begged Sasha, trying to give out the puppy eye look, even though Penny was looking down at at work.

"I want to get it all done here since it has to be in by midnight. We'll see each other again tomorrow."

"Well... ok. I'll see you tomorrow babe!" and Sasha gave Penny a sweet kiss and went off.

Penny could only smile but quickly went back to her work, writing out many reports.

Penny was the only one in the office section alone, but managed to finish all the reports at a very quick 10pm.

She easily gave in her reports by the reception, but Penny's look of direction changed over to the archives. She only smiled sadly as she looked around quickly.

No one was about.

And so she made her way inside the archives.

A officer at her level, shouldn't be in this room as only the inspectors or constables could. Unless you had special permission like how Layton and Emmy have done before.

But this was not her first time in here.

Penny could oversee countless bookshelves filled with millions of files. Some solved, some not even solved.

As she looked, she could see each file title, the one with the lab explosion from 12 years ago, the Azran case from 2 years ago, the London chaos case from a year ago with Clive Dove still behind bars, but then Penny finally found what she was looking for.

The werehouse bomb explosion case from nearly 3 years exacatly.

As Penny opened the first page, she saw how a burnt red tie was attached to the file by a paperclip. This was Drake's tie.

She tooked it off and held it with care, as she sat down on the cold floor, but smiling.

"Hi Drake..." quietly whispered Penny.

"Abit of trouble with the officers again... about me and Sasha. They said how you would be upset... b-but I know you would of wanted me to move on. Right!?" and as if Penny was getting a reply, she remained silent for a few seconds.

"Anyway, I saw Dani and her kids today while on patrol. And I saw how happy they were... E-Even if Desmond caused you to die... But it made me think... how I really want kids."

"I really want to be a mother with the children related by blood, but adoption won't allow it due to same sex couples... and... I think Sasha would hate the idea if I made love to another man just to make a baby..." and Penny started to shed small tears, trying not to get them over the tie.

"I know I'm happy with Sasha but... if you were still alive, we would of been happy. Both married, a home and children of our own. The children would have been beautiful... maybe even a little girl with my violet hair and your blue eyes..."

"Oh how I wish you were still alive..." but then as Penny thought of something that she shouldn't do, she placed the tie in her pocket and placed the file away.

"No one will notice... and you'll always be with me then..." and as she turned round, she gasped in horror until her mouth was covered by a hand.

The man in front of her was the very same man that saw her on the CCTV, with the odd cape and mask, and he placed one finger against his mouth.

"SHHHH!!! You don't want anyone to know that your down here Miss Linfield..." whispered the mysetrious man, as he slowly moved his other hand down from Penny's mouth.

She started to panick since this complete stranger with some creepy mask was right in front of her. Freaked out how he knew her and could not stop staring where his scar was, covering half of his face.

"Who are you and how do you know me!?" questioned Penny in fear.

He could only smirk in a amused way saying "Oh its not too hard to sneak through to find all Police records. And you may call me Lucas Kingswood!"
